I'm a planner in the Greater Philadelphia region. How can I use the Pedestrian Portal’s Plan tools to sketch and share pedestrian projects, as well as view projects shared by others?

Register/Login

Are you a planner in our region and would like access to the Plan tools? Follow these steps:

  1. Register as an editor*.
  2. You’ll receive an email with a link to confirm your account. On the confirmation page, click “Request access to Plan page” link and complete the form.
  3. Staff at DVRPC will review your request and approve access, when appropriate. Please note that it may be a day or two before staff can review requests.

Create a Project

Click on the Create Project button to begin planning. In the New Project window, add a project name, sharing settings (Private or Viewable by Other Planners), a Type (Exploration, Under Construction, or Planned), and comments. Then click ‘Create Project.’ Once created, you will be able to add Features.

Add Features to a Project

After creating your project (or selecting an existing project from My Projects), click on the ‘Features’ button. Search or zoom to a location on the map and begin drawing a feature on the map by selecting either a point, line, or shape. To add a point to the map, click a location on the map. To add a line, click once on the map to start your line, click on another point to draw a line segment, click again as needed, and double click to end your line. To add a shape, click once on the map to start your shape, click another point to draw a side of your shape, click a third point and the partial shape will become visible—keep clicking points to draw the shape you want, and double click to complete your drawing. Once your feature is drawn, enter comments and save the feature. Continue adding features to your project. Saved features will show in a list below (individual features can be deleted by clicking the trash can icon).

My Projects

Click ‘My Projects’ to view a list of the projects you’ve created. Click on a project name in the list to zoom to the project and view project features on the map. Projects can be deleted by clicking the ‘Delete Project’ button. Click on the ‘Features’ button to add new features or delete old ones. Click on individual features in the list to zoom to highlighted features.

All Projects

Click ‘All Projects’ to view a list of all projects within your current map view that have the sharing setting ‘Viewable by Other Planners.’ If you are zoomed in on a specific area, you may need to zoom out to see more projects—click ‘Search this Area’ to refresh the project list. Click on a project in the list to zoom in on the project and view project features on the map. Click the ‘Features’ button to view the list of features, and click on individual features to zoom to the highlighted feature.
